Red Mountain Resort website
As part of the complete brand refresh for Red Mountain Resort, a new website was needed. The biggest challenge was organizing the content. An audit of the site map for the previous site ended up filling five tabloid-size pages; the site was very difficult to navigate and find anything on it. The new site map fits on one page and is much easier to find what yo are looking for.
Websites for resorts like Red Mountain tend to require complex IA, which generally means dual navigation, with submenus. There is the nav that contains the standard info about the resort, its programs and amenities. The secondary nav allows for easy access to more “functional” pages, like an events calendar, blog or current offers.
This was one of the early projects that really kicked off my interest in deeper UX design work. I wish I still had the two site maps to show, but such is life . . .
